Betta Edu Submits Self To EFCC Over Alleged Corruption To The Tune Of N585m
Just a day after President Bola Tinubu suspended the Minister Of Humanitarian And Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, has submitted herself to the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission EFCC in Abuja, following corruption allegations to the tune of 585 million Naira.
The commission has served the suspended minister notice of invitation shortly after her suspension for the alleged corruption by the President.
Reports has confirmed that Mrs. Edu reported to the headquarters of the EFCC alongside her aides and her lawyer.
Recall that on Monday 8th January, the news of the suspension of the minister was announced by spokesman of the President, Ajuri Ngelale.
The announcement has hinted that President Tinubu suspended the minister to give the EFCC full chance to conduct investigation.
President Tinubu has stressed the need for full investigation to ensure transparency in the spendings of funds that are meant for humanitarian and poverty alleviation programs.
