Reasons Why EFCC Operatives Raided Dangote Group Headquarters In Lagos
More informations are coming to public domain regarding the reason why the operatives of the Economic And Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) operatives raided the headquarters of the Dangote group on Thursday's afternoon.
The operatives searched the offices for about two hours looking for financial records of the company, whil will help the commission in their investigation against the company for foreing currency regulations violations, especially the USD exchange rate reduction from the CBN
The operatives raided the company at about 11am.
The Dangote group company is owned by the famous African busines tycoon, Mr. Aliko Dangote. The businessman is into Cement, Artificial manure, Sugar and other products. Dangote is also about to start refining crude oil in his new rifinery with 650,000 barrel capacity.
Under the watch of Mr. Godwin Emefiele, who was the immediate past CBN governor, the CBN has established a forieng exchance policy that will help companies to have good access to foreing currencies, among which Dangote group of companies are taking advantage of.
In June 2023, authorities in Nigeria arrested the former CBN boss after he was suspended from his position and was charged to court for alleged many corruption cases.
BBC hausa reported that a source from the Dangote group confirmed that the incident of the raid carried out by the EFCC operatives took place in Lagos.
