Kano Gov. Inaugurates Committee On New Minimum Wage.

The governor of Kano State Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf has said he has inaugurated an advisory committee on the new national minimum wage.

The governor who posted the development in his official Facebook handle today 31st July, has expressed his will to implement the recently approved National minimum by President Bola Tinubu as soon as possible.
"Following the approval of a new national minimum wage by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I have inaugurated the Kano State Advisory Committee on the New National Minimum Wage, to plan the implementation of the new N70,000 minimum wage, as agreed with the organized Labour."

"Conducted by the Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, on my behalf, I emphasized the committee's responsibility to plan effectively for the newly approved minimum wage and to present a practical recommendation for the state government’s immediate implementation."

"I assure all workers that the implementation of the new minimum wage would increase the development of Kano State across all sectors, as the welfare of workers is an important priority of our government."

"The committee has also been tasked with delivering its task within three weeks, and it will be headed by Alh. Usman Bala Muhammad, Special Adviser to the Governor on State Affairs, and a former Head of the Kano State Civil Service."

"Other members of the committee include:

- Alh. Abdullahi Musa, Head of the Civil Service 
- Alh. Ibrahim Jibril Fagge, Hon. Commissioner of Finance
- Alh. Musa Suleman Shanono, Hon. Commissioner of Planning and Budget

- Dr. Aliyu Isa Aliyu

- Ibrahim I. Boyi
- Ibrahim Muhammad Kabara

President Bola Tinubu has signed the N28.7 trillion 2024 Budget into law. He assented to the 2024 Appropriation Bill at a brief ceremony at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday. Among those with the President while he signed were the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Tajudeen Abbas. The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun; Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Abubakar; the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, were on hand as well.
